In this section, we're going to create our own Animal Music. You'll be a composer and create a piece of music that describes an animal of your choice. The rest of the class will need to try and guess which animal you have chosen based on what they hear.

PROJECT STEPS
1. Select your animal. Don't tell anyone what animal you have chosen!
2. Write 3-5 sentences that describe your animal. Remember to select and combine adjectives and adverbs like the ones we used for our animal stories.
3. Write a list of sounds, rhythms, and or instruments that could be used to help listeners hear your animal and the descriptive words you've selected. For example: a heavy, wrinkly elephant might need slow, low drum sounds.
4. Over each sentence you wrote about your animal, write down an sound/rhythm/instrument from your list that would best communicate the sentence.
5. Practice your 3-5 sentence sound composition and be ready to perform it for the class! If we have your instrument choice available, you may use it during your practice and performance. If not, try to recreate the sound of that instrument in a new or different way.
