Robert Myers is the Band Director at Angola High School. At Angola, Mr. Myers leads the Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Pep Band, and Pit Orchestra. He also assists in teaching and developing the 6th grade music programs at Angola Middle School, alongside Mrs. Reece and Mrs. Good. The Angola Marching Hornets have performed many times at ISSMA State Finals and BOA Regional events and this past year, Angola High School was one of 14 high schools in the state of Indiana to receive the ISSMA Total Department All-Music Award.
Ellen Reece is the Band Director at Angola Middle School, where she directs the 6th grade, 7th grade, 8th grade, and jazz bands. In addition, she assists Mrs. Good with the 7th and 8th grade choirs and co-teaches 6th grade choir with Mr. Keiser. She is also the Assistant Band Director at Angola High School, her alma mater. Mrs. Reece started teaching at AMS in 2019. Previously, she taught junior high band, choir, guitar, and theater at Peru Junior High School for eight years, and elementary music, choir, and theater with Southwest Allen County Schools for one year. Mrs. Reece has experience instructing the guard and dance teams at both Peru High School and Wabash High School.
Mrs. Reece graduated summa cum laude from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2010, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. Her primary instrument is piano, and she has also studied flute and voice. Her extra-teaching musical pursuits include stints with the Ole Olson Community Theater, the Wabash Valley Community Theater, the Wabash County Piano Society, the Wabash Community Band, the IMEA Honor Band committee, IBA All-Region Band regional committees, the INpact Indiana's Future Band staff, and various church musical organizations. When she's not teaching music, Mrs. Reece likes to run, crochet, read, cook, and play with her very active three-year-old son Gideon.
Bill Etling resides in Bowling Green Ohio with his wife Heather and three kids Hailey, Landon and Parker. Mr. Etling is currently the Percussion Director for the Metropolitan School District of Steuben County where he currently teaches 6th grade, 7th grade, 8th grade and High School percussion. He is also the percussion arranger for the Angola Marching Hornets. Mr. Etling is the Director of the Angola Indoor Percussion as well as the arranger. He Is a retired adjudicator in Ohio. He has judged at local events and the OMEA State Marching Band State Finals for several years. Mr. Etling attended Kent State University where he studied percussion with Michael Burritt, Ted Rounds, Dr. Gifford Howarth, Dr. Blake Tyson and Dr. Thomas Burritt.
Sam is a 2011 Angola High School graduate and was a member of the Marching Hornets and Angola Winter Guard for all four years of her high school career. She has instructed for various marching bands and guards in the area since 2012 and is proud to have reestablished the Angola Winter Guard, a program that meant a lot to her, after a six year recess in 2018.
