Parents, there is a place for you in our Angola Band program! All parents of AHS Band students are members of the Angola Band Boosters Association (ABBA). We have monthly parent meetings in the AHS Band Room (please check our Google Calendar on the Home page for the next meeting). Please join us!
We hope that every parent will take an active role in their student's experience. We are so proud of our students and their achievements, and it truly does take a village to make it all happen. The AHS Band family is a tight-knit community that supports each other and gives our students (and their families!) the opportunity to make fantastic memories in their time with our program. Please consider helping out in one of the following ways:
Prop Construction - Building the props for our competitive shows (Marching Band, Winter Guard, Indoor Percussion)!
Sewing - Altering and repairing flags and uniforms!
Uniforms - Fitting students for uniforms at band camp, and/or helping students with hair or uniform preparation at Saturday competitions.
Pit Crew - Get your time on the field! Transporting equipment on and off the field for football games and Saturday competitions. Also needed for Winter Guard and Indoor Percussion.
Food Trailer - Feeding our students after a great performance! Preparing and organizing food for the band at Saturday competitions.
Bus Chaperone - Riding the bus with our students to and from performances. Needed year-round. You will need to fill out this form and bring your driver's license to Kim Wilson in the AHS Main Office.
Business Contacts - Connecting with local businesses for sponsorship opportunities and fundraisers.
Band Camp (Food Service) - Preparing and serving food at band camp. We need many volunteers who work in shifts for this!
Band Camp (Chaperone/First Aid Tent) - Monitoring students who are not feeling well during band camp and ensuring coolers are stocked with water.
Phone Tree - Contacting other parents to get the word out about upcoming events, needs, or announcements.
Car Washes - Supervising students at car washes and/or grilling food for customers.
We also need help organizing the following seasonal events:
Poinsettia/Candle Fundraiser (November/December)
Marching Band End-of-Season Party (November)
Solo & Ensemble (January/February)
All That Jazz (planning in Spring, performance in late April)
Mattress Fundraiser (advertisement in Spring, fundraiser in May)
We understand if you are unable to donate much of your time - please remember that we appreciate any help you can give, whether it is food donations, financial support, or professional business connections. Many hands make light work, and it takes everybody to support our students' continued successes in the AHS Band program!
