This week's teacher tip comes from Kayla Smith who is a 3rd-grade teacher at Olsen Park! Her advice is "When you feel stressed or overwhelmed, take some time for yourself. The work will be there the next day. When you feel your best, you are able to give 100% for your students".

How long have you been a KDP member and why did you join KDP?
I joined KDP one year ago because I wanted to be part of a supportive community where I could make lasting friendships, develop leadership skills, and contribute to meaningful causes. I was excited about the social events and networking opportunities it offered and I'm glad to be a part of this community!
Family, Hobbies, Interest
When I'm not student teaching or doing homework I love to spend time with my husband and my two babies! I also love to hang out with friends and attend my church small group.
Favorite thing about being part of KDP
My favorite thing about being a part of KDP is getting to do it with my best friend!
If a Genie gave you 3 wishes, what would they be?
If a genie gave me three wishes they would be:
Financial freedom for all of my family.
To live long enough to see my babies grow up.
Increasing teacher pay to 6 figures a year because we deserve it!
What/who inspired you to become a teacher?
My granny who taught for 30+ years inspired me to teach.
If you had any superpower, what would it be?
To fly
Who inspires you?
My husband who pushes me to be better every single day.
