Our mission:
To donate time and skills to make personal items for Angel Babies to be buried with dignity.
The Angel Gowns Project began in April of 2013 to encourage brides to donate wedding dresses to create burial gowns for Angel Babies born too early. This is also Angie’s project through OHCE (Oklahoma Home and Community Education) to raise awareness for little ones who can't speak for themselves and give parents comfort in knowing there are others who care and that their child matters.
These tiny gowns are donated to hospitals, birthing centers, funeral homes and families at no charge. Our goal is to wrap every child in something beautiful and that no family will be without something to bury their child in.
Since then, we have expanded to include donors, seamstresses, drop-off points and volunteers across the state of Oklahoma. We are also plugged into a network of foundations that span the globe and can be found in nearly every state and several countries. We are a 501c3 in the state of Oklahoma and donations are tax deductible.
Help us to transform something that you used on your brightest day to help a grieving family on their darkest. Many of the items provided to these parents are made from donated wedding dresses.
Grieving parents receive a memory kit. The memory kit includes a burial gown -- either a gown, tuxedo, or bunting/wrap depending on size and gender -- a set of hats, a cloth diaper, and a matching bracelet set or ribbon set for mommy and angel.
Each of these items is hand made from donations. If you would like to get involved in donating materials or time making one or more of the items, please contact us.
***NOTE***
At this time, we are not accepting wedding dress donations. We are overloaded with dresses and need to get through several of those before accepting anymore. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please watch this page and our Facebook page for updates***
