About Me

My name is Aneesh, and I'm a current senior at Andover High School. I was born in California and have spent much of my life in Massachusetts. Growing up in a multilingual home, I've always been interested in learning about and engaging with different cultures and countries—and Global at AHS was able to provide me with that immersive experience.

When I was about six years old, my parents bought me a book called Countries of the World: a short, interactive flipbook showing in intricate detail maps of every continent, outlining each country on each map. I could never put down this book: day after day, I would find myself engrossed in the complex colors and shapes on maps of faraway lands that I had yet to visit. It was this book that sparked my love for learning about the world. It was this book that, gradually, led me to research linguistic education through video media for my senior year Global research.

Through joining the Global Pathways Program and more, I've since taken my interest in learning about the world further. I'm the president of our school's Model UN team, and I've led efforts to bring our team up in regional rankings and expertise. When not in Model UN, you can also find me building robots with the Andover Robotics Club, playing the flute in the marching band, or testing algorithms to improve educational coding apps. I've also spent time volunteering for the Town of Andover, helping interview school committee candidates, running local food drives, and more.

In April of 2024, I participated in an exchange trip with Lycée Kléber in Strasbourg, France, where I lived and attended classes (and best of all, spoke French) for ten days.

Starting in the fall of 2024, I will be attending the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) double majoring in computer science and economics.

About Global Pathways

The Andover High School Global Pathways Program is a series of experiences for students and faculty to thrive as global citizen-scholars, in our complex, dynamic, and diverse global society. Students are guided by faculty advisors as they travel their global path through world language study, immersive travel, service learning, a Global Research Project, global course work and other experiences that lead toward the Endorsement for Global Engagement.
