In this class, students were introduced to foundational concepts of epidemiology, including measurement, study design, and bias. We regularly used real-world examples of strong (and less strong) epidemiological designs. Students were developed a study proposal in groups for their final evaluation.

I brought in material from various sources (including peer-reviewed articles, as well as popular media), and the class culminated with a paper reviewing a peer-reviewed article.

This course was an online, asynchronous seminar that accompanied students' service-learning internships. We covered numerous topics related to ethics in public health and cultural humility. I also worked with students to ensure they were meeting the requirements of their service-learning internship.

Johns Hopkins University | Intersession 2019
This one-credit term, taught in one week during Johns Hopkins' intersession, introduced students to HIV, including the viral structure and how it creates life-long infection, and the social and structural circumstances that promote or protect against disease transmission.
