Andriy Novikov is an enthusiastic Ukrainian botanist employed at the State Natural History Museum of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Lviv city. Andriy work in the field of plant morphology, systematics, and biogeography. At the same time, he is spending a lot of time advocating open access to scientific data, as well as curating a Herbarium of vascular plants (LWS) at the State Natural History Museum of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
This prize has been established to promote open access to natural history collections in Ukraine, particularly their digitization, as well as open public availability of the research data related to such collections.
