Protein Stories

To encourage scientific communication skills to audiences of all ages, and to encourage scientific literacy at an early age, one of the assignments in BIOCHEM 3Z03 is to write a fictional story. The stories are targeted to public school age children, with the aim of describing how a protein's structure is related to its function. The stories below are from the 2024 and 2025 BIOCHEM 3Z03 class and are published here with the permission of the authors and freely available to read. Illustrations were created with the help of PyMol, Biorender, Canva (AI-powered products and free media), Pixton, and some are original artwork. Copyright McMaster University 2024 & 2025.
