I am committed to scientific outreach and mentoring. One of the achievements I hold dear to my heart during my PhD is to have secured funding from the US Embassy in Lisbon for a scientific outreach project named BITS - Bridging Insularity through STEM. We used this funding to raise awareness about STEM among young children in an impoverished region of Madeira.
