I was born in Coimbra, Portugal - home of one of the world's first universities, my alma mater, founded in 1290. I also have close ties to nearby Figueira da Foz, a hidden gem off most tourists' radars that boasts Europe's widest urban beach.

Alongside my career as an economist, I am an avid world traveler and have visited over 70 countries. Next on the itinerary: Chile and UK.
