About

I am an assistant lecturer in Psychology working at the University of Santiago de Compostela. Previously, I held a postdoctoral research position (Margarita Salas fellowship, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Education) at the UNDERISK research group, University of Santiago de Compostela.

I hold a BA in Linguistics from the Siberian Federal University (Russia), an MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of A Coruña (Spain), and a PhD in Psychology from the University of A Coruña (Spain). During undergraduate studies, I was an Erasmus Mundus student at the University of Cádiz (2013/2014, financed by the University of Cádiz and Banco Santander) and at the University of Granada (2014/2015, financed by the European Comission). After finishing my undergraduate studies, I obtained an MA in Applied Linguistics at the University of A Coruña (2016). My Master's thesis was focused on the acquisition of Russian as foreign language by Spanish-speaking learners.

Having obtained a three-year competitive funding from Consellería de Cultura, Educación e Ordenación Universitaria de la Xunta de Galicia (ED481A-2017/279), I started my PhD studies at the University of A Coruña and joined the Research Group on Developmental Psychology and School Learning (Grupo de investigación en psicología del desarrollo y del aprendizaje escolar (GIPDAE)). My PhD research explored the acquisition of grammatical gender in Spanish and Russian-speaking children diagnosed with Developmental Language Disorder and was supervised by Profs. Miguel Pérez Pereira and Manuel Peralbo Uzquiano. In April 2021, this study was awarded the Guadalupe Aguado Research Award for Young Researchers by the The Spanish Association of Applied Linguistics (AESLA).

From September to December 2019, I was on a three-month research stay, financed by a programme for PhD research stays INDITEX-UDC 2019. I had an opportunity to work with the LAVA group (Language Acquisition, Variation & Attribution) of the UiT The Arctic University of Norway and with the Center for Language and Brain of the National Research University Higher School of Economics.

Between 2018 and 2021, I was a member of the Executive Board of the Spanish Association of Young Linguists ("Asociación de Jóvenes Lingüistas"), and of the Editorial Board of the Journal Estudios interlingüísticos. Since January 2019, I am a member of Spanish Society of Applied Linguistics. I have reviewed papers for East-European Journal of Psycholinguistics and Revista Semas. I am a part of the Scientific and Advisory Board of Borealis – An International Journal of Hispanic Linguistics. Since February 2021, I am a member of the Ethics Committee of the University of A Coruña. In 2021, I participated in Q-BEx project. In 2021 (Autumn semester), I worked as a Substitute Lecturer in Psychology at the University of A Coruña and as a researcher in CAES (Corpus de Aprendices de Español como L2) project at the University of Santiago de Compostela.

My research interests fall within the domains of first and second language acquisition, language processing, language disorders, bilingualism.
