My role as a Widening Participation tutor is to support prospective students from underrepresented backgrounds, aiming to increase the diversity in the academic environment. In this role, I deliver interactive presentations about biological sciences, especially my PhD project and social bee diversity.
I participated in two editions of the 'Pronta pra ser Cientista' extension project, which aims to empower girls in science by promoting courses and activities at the University of São Paulo. The project focuses on introducing young girls to new opportunities and showcasing women scientists from diverse fields.
I participated in the scientific outreach event 'Bio na Rua,' organized by Biology students from University of São Paulo, in which several activities were conducted in public places to share knowledge about biological sciences.
I was a member of the Biology Students Center for 2 years. During this time I participated in organizing social and academic events for University of São Paulo students, including the Biostudies Week and several talks.
In 2021, as a master's student at the University of São Paulo, I was part of the organizing committee of the Symposium and contributed to the compilation of the abstract book.
In 2021, as a master's student at the University of São Paulo, I was part of the organizing committee of the Meeting.
I served as a student representative for 1 year in the Comparative Biology graduate program at the University of São Paulo, advocating for the students' perspectives and initiatives to the faculty and program coordinators.
