John & Hazel Martin of The Salvation Army, Clowne, wrote following their Spring Concert on 11/05/19:

Another superb concert by Anston Male Voice Choir at the Salvation Army on Saturday 11 May 2019.

The items performed were varied with something to suit all tastes. We particularly appreciated inclusion of Silver Trumpet at our request, also your sensitivity to the fact your concert was being performed in our church. Howard’s compering was informative, succinct and relaxed. Cynthia clearly appreciated our lovely piano. The whole atmosphere was professional yet personal; in fact we now regard members of the choir as our friends. The concert created a buzz that was still evident the following day.

More than anything we wish to thank you for helping us raise £465 for the work of The Salvation Army here in Clowne.

The Reverend John Leal wrote to our Concert Secretary following the Concert @ St Michael's Church Rossington on 10/03/18:

"I write on behalf of all at St Michael's Church, to thank you most sincerely for a wonderful evening of song and entertainment on 10th March. We have had wonderful feedback from the congregation as to what an enjoyable evening it was.

The evening itself raised over £600.00 for St Michael's funds, for which we are so grateful.

We would like to convey our utmost thanks to you and your colleagues for taking the time to facilitate such a wonderful event and of course look forward to inviting you back at a further date."

Anne Hudson the Church Organist of St Michael's Church Rossington, said:

" I love your Choir, they make a super sound and are lovely Guy's as well".

Janice Maskill Secretary of  Maltby (Rother Valley) Lions stated:

Christmas would not be the same without having Anston Male Voice Choir providing the entertainment at our annual Pensioners Carol Concert and Tea. For many years now they have delighted our guests with their rendition of seasonal carols and popular songs, along with the occasional amusing anecdote.  We are very much looking forward to welcoming them again this year for another memorable afternoon.

Vicky Underwood commenting on the concert at St Georges Woodsetts wrote:

"A concert by the Anston Male Voice Choir is always something to anticipate with pleasure so we were delighted to attend their concert at St. George's Church Woodsetts on November 11th 2017.

The evening's programme was obviously the product of much thought with several items being especially appropriate to Remembrance Day, which were very poignant and thought-provoking.

The rest of the performance was more light-hearted in content with items for all tastes. These were performed with professionalism which is a hallmark of this choir. The conductor always finds the right degree of background knowledge for it to be interesting and yet does not detract from the singing; whilst the accompaniment is excellent.

Anston Male Voice Choir delight in the seamless way that they move from one item to another and the fact that they sing out to the audience and not into their books. It is obvious that they rehearse well and yet care which radiates from them as a group comes over in their performances. This is a choir who delight in their music and who pass it on to their audience.

'Well done' we eagerly await your next performance".

Gail Parkin Community Fundraiser at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice said “ A massive thank you from everyone here at the hospice for this sizeable donation, we are incredibly fortunate to have the support of the choir, not just on this occasion but for many years now. It’s wonderful that the choir which is based so near to the hospice has taken it to their hearts, the support we receive from you all is very much appreciated”.

With kindest regards to you all.

Gail.

Jacky Wadsworth of The Rockingham Band commented on our annual concert held at The Crossing Worksop on 9th September 2017:

"We enjoyed it and there was a real buzz around the concert hall"

Liz Grundy, Concert Secretary of Friends in Harmony, said after our concert with them on 3rd June at St. Joseph's, Dinnington:

"Lovely to meet you on Saturday and listening to your choir. A great concert!

Once again thanks for all your input into what turned out to be a brilliant evening".

Message received the morning after our 6th May 2017 Springtime Concert for The Salvation Army Clowne.

Once again, many thanks to Anston Male Voice Choir for the splendid concert we enjoyed last evening.

You will be pleased to know the financial result was well beyond our wildest hope. Hazel and I were able this morning to hand our Treasurer the princely sum of £600 for use in sustaining the social outreach and support work for which the Salvation Army is well known and respected both locally and nationally. The choir’s contribution was beyond all expectations and so gratefully received.

The place was still buzzing this morning with so many favourable comments about the choice and quality of music you presented. More than once the phrase “professional but friendly” was used and I could not agree more. From the very beginning when Malcolm and I exchanged initial correspondence, through practical arrangements sorted out with yourself to the last note of the performance, it has been a pleasure to get to know and work with AMVC.

Spring 2019 looks well worth pencilling in for a return visit!

My friends and colleagues here at Clowne Salvation Army owe the choir a huge debt of gratitude and wish it success in all it does in the future.

With kindest regards to you all.

John
