WE ARE HIRING! If you are interested in learning more about or joining our lab, please contact Prof. Kim at <kyunam.kim [at] skku [dot] edu>.
AMRL members had an end-of-year lab hangout. This was the last semester for Seunghyun and Sungkook, and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors. We also have a new member, Donggeon. Welcome aboard!
Joonhyun attended The 12th International Conference on Robot Intelligence Technology and Applications (RiTA 2024), where he presented his work entitled "Optimal Thrust Estimation Considering Actual Thrust Fitting of Quadrotors." Great job!
Our Prometheus team (Carroll, Junghoon, Jiyun) earned an award in the Undergraduate Research Fair held by the School of Mechanical Engineering in Fall 2024. The team is working on the development of a multi-modal locomotion robot that integrates bipedal walking with quadrotor-based flying. Many congratulations to the team!
The lab moved to a new place! It is now located on the first floor of the Corporate Collaboration Center, Rm 85161.
Joon attended the 2024 KIISS-APCIM Joint Conference, where he presented his work entitled "MetricVQA: Integrating Visual Question Answering and Object Distance Estimation on Monocular Images." Well done!
AMRL supported and participated in the Fall Festival of Suwon Lifelong Learning Center. AMRL members showcased the lab's autonomous delivery drone and engaged with the public!
Our BaBamBa team (Seheon, Juna, Seunghyeon, Jiyun) won first prize for the Co-Deep Learning project for the Spring semester of 2024. The team presented an eco-friendly 3D printer that prints with a filament recycled from PET waste. With this award, the lab has won first place for the second time, the first being last semester. Once again, many congratulations to the team!
The lab members had another hangout together after our lab meeting. Hope everyone is having an enjoyable summer!
The progress and achievements made by Squishy Robotics, Inc. (a Bay Area located company co-founded and led by Prof. Alice M. Agogino, Prof. Kim's doctoral advisor) in commercializing tensegrity robot technology for applications in emergency response and early wildfire and methane detection and remediation have been highlighted as the cover of the Soft Robotics journal in their latest issue (link). This achievement is a remarkable milestone in tensegrity robotics, and we look forward with great interest to the forthcoming outcomes of the company's work!

AMRL members prepared a surprising Teacher's day event for Prof. Kim. Personal messages for Prof. Kim were written on airplane-shaped notes, accompanied by a cake and flowers. May our lab be a place where all of your dreams unfold freely, much like airplanes soaring through the sky!
Our ADDS team (Seheon, Juna, Seunghyeon) won first prize for the Co-Deep Learning project for the Fall semester of 2023. The team proposed a deep-learning based approach to develop a mobile robot system consisting of UAV and UGV that guides a crowd during an emergency. Congratulations!
