WE ARE HIRING! If you are interested in learning more about or joining our lab, please contact Prof. Kim at <kyunam.kim [at] skku [dot] edu>.
We strive to advance human society by actively participating in the shift towards a new mobility paradigm.
Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) is a forthcoming air transportation system that will broaden the aviation service coverage by introducing revolutionary aircraft technology. AAM holds immense potential for transforming urban and regional transportation networks, with a substantial influence on the future of how people and goods will be transported within smart cities. Our lab is dedicated to becoming a leading research entity in the field of autonomous flight, with the aim of facilitating the realization of AAM.
A robot equipped with various methods of locomotion can navigate demanding environments that may pose challenges to single-mode locomotion robots. It can also enhance its mobility by adapting to different environmental conditions through the selection of appropriate locomotion modes. Furthermore, when these diverse locomotion mechanisms work in tandem, they have the potential to synergize and enable highly complex and efficient mobility.
In our lab, we are actively delving into the possibilities and conceptualizing innovative robotic applications for these novel multi-modal locomotion robots.
The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly evident in our daily lives. As AI evolves, its ability to process diverse information sources—such as language, vision, and sound—is becoming crucial for real-world applications. When combined with mobility and robotics technologies, multi-modal AI can drive the development of intelligent vehicles, improve traffic management, and enable advanced robotic systems that adapt to dynamic environments and interact with humans in a complex yet natural way. With its potential for integration into mobile and robotic platforms, multi-modal AI is a key research focus in our lab.
Join our lab and work on cutting-edge technology that will revolutionize how we move.
