WE ARE HIRING! If you are interested in learning more about or joining our lab, please contact Prof. Kim at <kyunam.kim [at] skku [dot] edu>.
The fall semester has now begun! We are very excited to welcome new members joining our lab this semester. Junghoon and Kyun, who have been undergraduate researchers in our lab, are now starting their graduate studies. Hyunsu has also newly joined the lab and is beginning her graduate studies, and Bojun rejoined our lab as an undergraduate researcher. We warmly welcome them all and wish everyone in the lab good luck this semester!
This summer, two of our students, Joon and Joonhyun, became the first Master’s graduates from our lab. In addition, our undergraduate researchers, Junghoon and Kyun, also graduated and will be joining our lab as graduate students. Carroll is graduating too, and she is moving to a new place to start her graduate studies. Congratulations to all of them!
The lab members enjoyed a dinner together to celebrate the successful completion of the spring semester and the start of the summer vacation.
Joon and Joonhyun have completed their final defenses for the Master's degree, and Chanbin passed his preliminary defense for his Master's degree. Well done and congratulations!
AMRL members prepared a surprising Teacher's day event for Prof. Kim. Thank you everyone!
Chanbin presented his work on the modeling and simulation of a quadcopter with reaction wheel at this year's spring conference of KSME's Dynamics/Control/Robot division and The 8th Korea-Japan Joint Symposium on Dynamics & Control. Great work!
As part of the ongoing efforts for the MOU between the City of Suwon and SKKU, AMRL is offering a new series of drone lectures at the Suwon Lifelong Learning Center for the next two months, starting from April 7th. Unlike previous lectures, this series is more focused on tangible stuff: building and programming a real drone! AMRL's graduate students Byeongjun and Chanbin will participate as main instructors along with Prof. Kim.

AMRL members had a special trip to attend the 20th Korea Robotics Society Annual Conference (KRoC 2025). Lots of exciting presentations and fun exhibitions!
The Gyecko team (including Sungkook and Kyun from AMRL) earned an excellence award for the Co-Deep Learning project of Fall 2024. Over the semester, they developed a small-sized robot capable of peristaltic locomotion, inspired by an inchworm, for pipe inspection. The team utilized specially manufactured material from Prof. Baik, Sangyul's lab for the robot's feet to enable an innovative type of locomotion. Great work!
As part of the ongoing efforts for the MOU between the City of Suwon and SKKU, AMRL is offering another series of drone lectures for beginners at the Suwon Lifelong Learning Center for the next two months, starting from January 8th. A total of six lectures are planned, which are open to citizens residing in Suwon.

AMRL's recent work on the nuclear safeguard drone titled "Case Study and Technology Analysis for Application of Drones to LWR-type SMR Safeguards" is now published online. This report examines the possibility of using drones to the nuclear safeguard activities. As the first author, Byeongjun took the lead in writing the report. Excellent work!
