Bristol Amnesty International Garden PartyÂ

We are delighted to say that we are planning to hold the 40th Annual Amnesty Bristol Garden Party again this year at the beautiful Goldney Gardens, in Clifton, Bristol.  Yes, it has been going for forty years 😮it is a fun way to raise funds to support the work that Amnesty International does to defend human rights around the world. Â

LGBTQ+ event at M-Shed 22nd February 2020 12:00-16:30
A celebration of community, call to action and 25 years of Freedom Youth. This special day of activities will discuss human rights, intersectionality, and history and heritage for LGBTQ+ people in Bristol and overseas.
Programmed by Freedom Youth and involving local and international activists, this will be an opportunity to reflect on the past, consider the present and act on the future.

Regional Amnesty International Conference
Saturday 7th March 2020 from 10.00 to 16.00. Speakers/workshop leaders include Kate Allen (Director of AIUK) Tom Harrison (AIUK board member), Alice Venn (Lecturer in Climate Justice) and Chris Ramsey (SW Regional Rep).Â
December 2019 Treefest at St Mary Redcliffe
We had a tree at the festival to raise awareness of the Amnesty in general and to give people an opportunity to write a message of solidarity to the people involved in the Write for Rights campaign.Â
Andrew Brown the Liberal Democrat PPC came along to lend his support to the event.Â

Goldney Garden Party (our big fundraiser of the year!) - Sunday 4th August
Thank you to everyone who came along and helped us raise over £2000 to support human rights.Â

Bristol Pride Day was on 13th July and started with the Pride Parade which is an integral part of what Pride is about.
It was the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riots as well as the 10th anniversary of our own Bristol Pride.Â

The Great Amnesty Quiz Night
We had a great night at the Royal Navy Volunteer (especially the team who won a £100 voucher!).Â
We raised £70.56 and got a lot of actions signed on the Refugee Family Reunion Bill.Â
