You can find more detail on all of the Amnesty UK campaigns on their website, here.
Amnesty Bristol and Weston-super-Mare campaign on a number of issues each year. These include the Amnesty Write for Rights Campaign and LGBT+ issues at Bristol Pride.
Following on from the longstanding work and knowledge of our members in Weston-super-Mare, we continue to focus on the case of the BK16 in India, individual human rights activists who were arrested without charge and imprisoned in 2018.
You can read a summary of AI UK's work on that campaign here. Although AI UK has stopped active work on this campaign (perhaps due to the fact that AI India has been banned as a separate organisation in India), we continue to feel strongly that our local group's efforts to show support for the 15* individuals with Letter Writing and sending Solidarity Cards should continue in order to help encourage these brave individuals in the face of injustice.
For brief summaries of the three BK16 individuals who we are featuring in the September 2025 Letter Writing session, along with their addresses, click here.
