Advanced Manufacturing & Materials Processing Group in the department of Materials Engineering at IISc, Bengaluru is looking for a no. of Project Associates to work on below mentioned projects;
Design, analysis and development of Rheo gravity die cast Al-15Mg2Si-4.5Si composite brake disc for automobile application (Funded by DST-SERB) (No. of positions: 1)
Design and Development of Tooth colored Ceramic Dental Braces set by Micro-Ceramic Injection Moulding (Funded by DST-SEED) (No. of positions: 1)
Design, Analysis and development of Rheo gravity die cast Al-15Mg2Si-4.5Si composite based light weight Bucket links for Mining Excavators (Funded by Ministry of Mines) (No. of positions: 2)
Development of Finite Element models to simulate deformation and wear behaviour of bottom roller/pins of SME in mines (Funded by Ministry of Coal) (No. of positions: 1)
Setting up of “Advanced Manufacturing and Materials Processing” laboratory at Dept. of Materials Engineering, Indian Institute of Science Bangalore (Funded by IISc) (No. of positions: 1)
Project Associate-I:
Qualification: M.E./M.Tech in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering/ Production Engg./ Mechanical/ Manufacturing/ Thermal / Aeronautical Engineering or Ph.D. in Physics/Materials/Metallurgy with a good academic record
Remuneration: Rs. 31,000/- per month for scholars who are selected through GATE/CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) else Rs. 25,000/- per month + HRA (According to IISc norms)
Age limit: 35 yrs.
Duration: 1 year and subsequently renewable based on performance
Desirable skills: Experience in working with Computational Fluid Dynamics based Multi-Phase Flow simulation/ Finite Element modelling/ CAD and Solid modelling / Casting & Solidification/Additive Manufacturing/Injection Moulding/ Powder Metallurgy/ Bio-ceramics/ Material Characterisation/ Atomistic modelling/ Computer languages such as “C” or “Fortran”/Mechanical Metallurgy/Mechanical testing/Ability to conduct experiments and analyse data (microstructure analysis, mechanical testing’s such as monotonic tensile testing, nano-indentation etc.)/ Ability to learn and operate SEM, EBSD, FIB, and TEM.
