1st Round Marketing Analytics Hackathon 2025
Date / Venue: By 30 May (10am – 6pm) / each university will decide its own dates (Queen Mary University of London, Cardiff University, Oxford Brookes University, University of Exeter). Contact your co-ordinating faculty
Teams: 4–5 students, ideally a mix of UG and PG students (2 teams per university will be selected for the 2nd, final round intra-university hackathon on 11 June 2025 at Queen Mary)
Round 1 timeline (same with Round 2) – It can be conducted in person or online
o 10:00 am: Event kickoff and keynote by an academician
o 10:20 am: Problem statement briefing and dataset distribution
o 10:40 am – 12:00 pm: Hacking sessions
o 12:00 pm – 1 pm: Lunch
o 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm: Hacking sessions and submission of solutions
o 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm: Team presentations (10-minute pitches + Q&A)
o 6:00 pm: Selecting two teams and closing remarks
Judging criteria
1. Analytical rigor (30%): Depth of data analysis and interpretation
2. Innovation (20%): Creativity and uniqueness of the proposed solution
3. Practical applicability (20%): Relevance and feasibility of the solution
4. Presentation (15%): Clarity, storytelling, and engagement during the pitch
5. Team collaboration (15%): Effective teamwork and communication
