Amit Palgi is a cross-media artist based in Amsterdam.
He studied dance; therefore, the departure point of his art it the body; The potential for intimacy and vulnerability of our human bodies and mind. Amit works with film and technology, gets inspiration from the liveness of the theatre and of fine art installations, shares dance in non-normative places, and tries whenever possible to collaborate with humour. As a highly sensitive person, Amit hopes to share with his art a sense of vulnerability, empathy, and community. To move, communicate and touch others. In the profit-based society we live in, Amit tries to offer with his art a moment to look at yourself and at others, and feel.
As an artist Amit is interested in interdisciplinary work, extending ideas regarding what dance is and how we share it. As part of this research, he created an interactive hybrid performance for Concordia Theater (including a party version of the performance), created for cafes in Cafe Theater Festival, for art galleries in Still Moving festival, and uses immersive technology for his creations.
