VUE is a concept map and content map tool. A concept map is a visual representation of the information useful when it is important to see and understand relationships between different things. (To know more about a concept map please visit). Drawing a concept map can be a pain as every time the concept/node has to be connected to the child with the connecting link which establishes how the child and node are related, While drawing on the paper we fall short of space resulting in a cluttered diagram leading to confusion.
VUE is one tool that can help to overcome and soothe the experience of drawing and making the concept map. It is free and easy to install.
Once we install it clicking on the canvas will create the node. We can type down the concept in node. The child can be created by doing the same procedure. The important thing is connecting the links, It is quite easy with this software, we just have to select the edge of the node and drag the computer mouse to the child which will automatically create the connecting link between the two. We can type in the name of the relation between node-child on connecting link.
In the concept map the chronology has to be established, the nodes and childs have to be selected accordingly in canvas. it will create the levels of concepts. To apply any specific formatting, moving through canvas or deleting the multiples nodes in one or different levels we can select the layers in windows in address bar or by ctrl+5, this one is the best feature of VUE which is a great help to the user. The project can be saved as all possible image extensions and with project extension in .vue.
Another useful tool in VUE is The Keywords tool. This enables authors to "tag" or apply full metadata schema to nodes and links. Maps can then be searched based on these keywords.
One pian point in using the tools is formatting of nodes/childs/links, which is quite hard to find in VUE when compared to other concept map-drawing tools.
