Using Instructional Materials (IMs) for My Demo Teaching
For my demo teaching, I prepared instructional materials (IMs) that slowly revealed my topic about the four major types of writing. These materials helped me present the topic in an engaging way. I used visual aids, gave prizes, and provided examples to explain each type of writing one by one. As the lesson continued, I noticed my students started to participate more and became excited about the activities.
The materials were simple, but they made the lesson more fun and interactive. I included a group activity where students had to create short writing samples based on the four types. I was very happy to see them working together, laughing, and enjoying while still learning the lesson. It showed me that learning can happen even when students are having fun.
Seeing my students active during the activity gave me more energy and confidence. It was a reminder that students learn better when they are involved in the lesson. As a future educator, I now understand how important good instructional materials are in making lessons clear and enjoyable. It also reminded me that even simple tools can have a big impact on students’ learning.
