Welcome to the Amherst PTA's Annual Production: Matilda the Musical

We invite you to audition October 22nd from 1-4 and the 23rd from 6:30-8:30! For auditions, we ask that you have 8 bars (first verse and chorus) of any song from a musical (please no pop songs). We will have scenes from the show to have people read from. There will be a dance to learn at auditions that will give us a quick idea of dance abilities. Rehearsals begin Jan 7, 2024.

Ages: 3rd grade through Adult

Video auditions should be submitted to amherstptaplay@gmail.com by Sunday October 22nd, at 12am.  It should include you singing 8 bars (first verse and chorus) of any song from a musical (please no pop songs).

If you are 18 or older, you need to be fingerprinted and background checked in order to audition. This is mandated by the state and PTA.  See Background Check page for more information.

About the Show:

Matilda the Musical is based on the beloved novel by Roald Dahl. It follows the story of a young girl who doesn't feel like she fits into her family. After starting at school, she soon begins to realize that she is bolder, braver and more magical than she ever dreamed. Faced with hardship and conflict, Matilda begins to navigate the world of school and home with new friends, teachers and telekinetic powers that turn her world topsy turvy.
