Gabe was a key figure in the creation of the United Friends of America. He was present during the original game of Democracy Four Square that inspired the UFA.

Gabe is the founder of the Nico Party. He led the Nico Party insurrection against the UFA, and committed electoral fraud on behalf of his party the following day. He ran for Vice President, but was unable to serve, as the Constitution prevents citizens who have engaged in insurrection from holding government positions.

He ran in the 2025 Q2 election as the Governor of UFS, and after resolving a tie with a game of rock-paper-scissors, he won.

He has been widely criticized for his mafia activity, which brought division to the United Friends of America. Many have also condemned his illegal insurrection against Americonian forces. The 2024 Q3 election has been a major point of controversy. While the election results were initially seen as legitimate by the majority of the nation, even Auden Watts and his supporters, it is now generally accepted as fact that Gabe Shelly submitted several false ballots, which resulted in a Nico Party victory.
