"Laguna doesn't need polka dots, flowers, or glitter to stand out. Her soft seafoam-green body has a pearlescent sheen that changes subtly as the light moves across her surface. That finish also makes her especially interesting beside Pearl, another Bath & Body Works duck in the museum collection with a pearlescent appearance but a very different color.
Were these finishes part of a related group of releases? Were other colors made? We don't know yet. Until contemporary evidence gives us those answers, Laguna helps preserve another piece of the remarkable design variety found among surviving Bath & Body Works ducks—and another clue for the museum to investigate."

DuckDex Entry #0015
This seafoam-green, pearlescent duck is a surviving example of Bath & Body Works rubber-duck merchandise. Molded Bath & Body Works markings confirm its brand attribution, while underside markings identify China as the country of manufacture. Its original product name, release date, manufacturer/vendor, and retail context remain under investigation.
Laguna's pearlescent surface provides useful comparative evidence within the museum collection. Pearl (DuckDex #0009) exhibits a similar reflective finish in soft pink. The resemblance suggests a possible relationship between the designs, but it remains unclear whether the two ducks were released together or belonged to a larger group.

Story Connection: Nichole added Laguna to the museum to document the variety of surviving Bath & Body Works rubber ducks. Its seafoam-green pearlescent finish makes it particularly useful for comparison with Pearl (#0009) and any additional specialty-finish variants that may be documented later. Together, these objects may help the museum identify relationships among designs whose original release histories remain unknown.
Laguna is in excellent overall condition, retaining a smooth pearlescent seafoam-green surface and strong painted facial details. The sculpted feather details remain well-defined, and the molded underside markings are clearly legible. Minor handling wear is present but does not significantly affect the object's overall appearance.
🟩 Confirmed: Bath & Body Works attribution is established by molded markings on the surviving object.

Every duck has a story...
"Some ducks sparkle. Some arrive covered in flowers or polka dots. Laguna does something quieter. Her soft green finish catches the light just enough to make you look twice—and looking twice is often where museum research begins.
Put her beside Pearl, and another question appears. Are they connected? Were there more colors? We don't have those answers yet, but that's why preserving both matters. Sometimes a single duck is an object. Two similar ducks can become a clue."
