Basics of Storytelling: Adult Writers (18+)
This introductory writing group will give new writers an avenue to explore their hidden creative talents, form daily writing habits, and develop the skills they need to embark on their writing journey. The goal of this entry level workshop is to become comfortable with in your skin as a writer, get your ideas flowing, and familiarize yourself with workshopping within a group.
We will work on: Different methods of writing, including free writing, structured writing, developing habits, writing routines, and reading works from various writers and how they tackle the "craft" of writing.
Make it a Novel: Adult Writers
Working with writers who are already comfortable writing, but want to talk about and share their work with a group of experienced or semi-experienced writers. The goal here is to develop community, become comfortable with criticism, and create space for writers to delve deeper into their work.
We will work on: creating goals for our writing projects, and what we want to improve on. Based on that, I will provide case specific exercises and lessons tailored to the needs of the group. exercises that expand the scope of your characters or project, mapping out your story, writing and revising, giving written and verbal feedback on work, how to incorporate and make meaning of feedback, and starting to think about the publishing process.
