This photo was taken of my great, great grandmother in early 1960's on a film camera.

Photoshop

Curves - to change the tone of the photo, using red, green, and blue separately.

Levels - Changing the levels of the the coloring to create realistic toning.

Ruler - Straighten the image.

Crop - Inward, to take away a small amount of excess table that got into the scan. Outward to make the image larger.

Clone Stamp - Get rid of blemishes.

Lasso Tool - to select the rips and scratches in photo.

Content Aware Fill - To fill in the blemishes and folds.

Revised

In order to work with the different shades due to fading, I converted this photo to black and white and used auto-color filter. I also went in and used the clone stamp tool where needed. This made the sky all one color and helped a lot with the fading. I also cropped in the photo and adjust the color and lighting a bit in Camera Raw to create a more piercing photo.
