Design Elements

Contrast - Used in the dark colors of the dog on a white backdrop.

Alignment - The dog is put in the center of the photo at the bottom. This correlates with the direction his eyes are looking.

Proximity - I chose to crop the dogs face to put more focus on the dogs eyes and large ears.

Color - The black and white coloring adds to the contrast in this photo.

Photoshop

Cropped the original image. Made the image black and white. Used the pen tool to brighten the dogs eyes as adjusting the level of brightness.

This is my original image taken on a Mark 70D Camera in Raw.
