I always queue up a number of albums. Too often, when I open the app to play music I'll find that my queue has been reset to the beginning. It starts out with songs that I've already listened to. On occasion, it will totally erase songs that I've queued up. I never force close the app, so it's still in memory. This is quite annoying as I like to pick up where I left off. When the app resets my queue, I have to resort to removing songs I've already played. If I could select a group of songs to remove then this would be less painful. But the app only lets you remove one at a time. Please fix this issue of the app resetting itself. This has been going on for a long, long time.

Yes, I'm referring to Up Next. There doesn't seem to be any particular time that this will happen, except that it occurs with regularity. It will occur perhaps twice a week or so. Restarting, or adding and deleting music has no effect. What's odd about it is that the app will reset the Up Next queue to the beginning of all the music that's been added, as if I had just added it all and had not listened to any of it. Most of the time, no music gets erased from the queue. I can't recall that it ever actually erased on the iPhone XS. I had an iPhone 7 prior to this and I do recall the queue being erased on that phone. I had this same issue with the iPhone 7 as well.

I don't listen to the app every day and I thought that if I leave it for awhile, that that might have something to do with why it happens. But the other day I used that app and listened to some music, then opened it again about four hours later and all the music that I had already listened to had been added back to the top of the queue, just like I'd never listened to it.

I've tried everything I can think of. I've force closed the app and tried starting over. I've tried not adding as much music to the queue. I've noticed that when the queue gets reset that the app goes back to the main page of my library. I will normally leave the app in the "Downloaded Music" section, since that is where I'm choosing my music from. So, now I'm trying to see if I leave the app in the main page, will it stop resetting. It's only been about 24 hours now, so not enough time has passed yet. I'm not optimistic, however. I'm almost positive that where I leave off has no bearing on why it resets. We'll see.

Thanks for the input. Signing out, for me, is something I would dread having to do. I have a large capacity iPhone and I've downloaded a ton of music. The thought of having to do that over again is not at all appealing. I'm trying out something else as well. I always just queue things up to listen to. That works best for me as I listen to music dictated by my mood. I'm going to try adding things to a playlist instead and then just add the playlist to Up Next. At least if the playlist gets reset I can then just jump down to wherever I wish. I'll treat the playlist like a queue, deleting it when I wish to listen to something different, creating a new one at that time. Wish me luck!

I was listening to Amazon Music and it wanted to download the music from my amazon cloud. It said it couldn't do it except when connected to wi-fi. There was a box to check to give it permission to do that. I said no, don't download it, but it put the music in download queue for later for when I connect to wi-fi. I don't want it to download all my amazon music but I can't find out how to clear the download queue and find that setting. Anyone help?!
