Meet Amanda

My name is Amanda. I am a wife to Matt and a mom to three amazing kids Zach, Adam and Anna. When Zach was a baby I decided to stay home with my kids and take in a few others as a way to use my education and make an income. It has bloomed into the space that it is today and has turned into a passion project that has just continued to grow.  

Amanda's House officially opened in July 2012 and moved to the Pepper Creek area in 2024.  It was amazing to work with a new canvas and create a new magical space to explore. 

I have always loved young children. They are incredible and inspiring. They have amazing ideas and are capable of taking charge of their interests and learning. I have a passion for creating a yes space where I work hard to pinpoint their interests and provide opportunities for learning. I also believe that spending lots of time outside is crucial for developing strong vestibular systems, a wonder and appreciation for the natural world, and the space to get as messy as possible.

The best part of my job is watching children grow from little one year old babies to big kids that are ready for school. Amanda's House is a place where children learn to be strong and independent. That they can do hard things and feel the power of success. I think the best indicator for school readiness is an ability to problem solve practical and social problems, a belief in themselves that they are capable of doing hard things and most of all a belief that they are strong, brave, kind and capable.
