Our group decided to choose bullying as our empathy challenge topic. We feel that it is one of the most common topic society can relate to. Bullying has been a large concern for schools for some time. Laws based upon anti-bullying came into effect starting in Georgia of the year 1999 so it has not been very long that these laws have been in place. Some states do not even have laws against bullying. This concerns schools and faculty. By making a film that explains bullying, it can help young students and teachers learn about bullying and its effects. Bullying has long term and short term effects on the victims but also the bullies. Most times, there are underlying reasons to why bullies carry out with the actions that they are known for. Most of society thinks bullying is an obvious act. They assume bullying will present itself to them, this is not always true. There are small acts of bullying and large acts. Large acts are the evident scenarios in which one larger kid is picking on a smaller kids about their hair or maybe the clothes they wear. This is particularly popular in TV shows or movies. The bullying that happens most though is cyber bullying and even bullying that happens with people that are called friends. We wanted our viewers to understand that their words can have an huge effect on someone. We also wanted to let others know that they are not alone in the world there will always been someone there for them.
