We will be creating printed posters that transform into an animated alternate version using an AR app.
The app will work similarly to the Old Streets Adventure (external link)
The posters will be assembled into an exhibition where they will be displayed in a row.
Viewers will be able to point their smartphone at a QR code to launch a web app. Then point their phone at the image printed on a poster, which use the app to play an animation without any need for downloading.
To expose specific harmful stereotypes and/or messaging in media and offer ideas for alternative versions.
Students can focus their poster on a media genre of their choice, such as: Games, Animation, Live Action Series/Films, Card/Board Games, Magazines, Advertising, Educational Media, etc.
Students will style match their alternative version to the original version that they choose.
Students will work in teams of 3-5 persons.
All team members will participate in pre-production
Each person will likely handle 2 or more jobs in the pipeline.
Each person should be ready to step up and fill in work gaps created by illness or other unforeseen events.
