Welcome to the Alterhumanity Index! This website exists as a tool for those questioning, curious, or just wanting to learn more about the alterhumanity umbrella and community. This site is intended for those with little to no knowledge on the community, its history, and its terms, and is meant to be easily digestible for those who are interested in quickly learning more. 

It is important to keep in mind that this website is NOT exhaustive, and is not meant to list every experience or identity under the sun. It is also not intended to replace but work alongside and potentially support any preexisting resources regarding the community.

WHAT IS AN ALTERHUMAN?

 The term "alterhuman" refers to a community of those with personal identities or experiences that are alternative to or outside of common societal ideas of "humanity".  This may be due to spirituality, reincarnation beliefs, psychological factors such as neurodivergence or trauma, societal factors such as oppression or portrayal in media, or otherwise. This label is extremely broad, spanning from involuntary identities such as otherkinity and its subcommunities to voluntary experiences such as linking, and every instance in between. Every alterhuman is united by their unorthodox understanding and expression of humanity, whether that be uniquely human or not at all.
