Lori's Lines

Lori Stellmar, Director

Happy New Year to everyone!  I hope you enjoyed the holiday break. For those of you who may not know me let me introduce myself. My name is Lori Stellmar and I am the new Head Start Director.  I have been with Head Start for about 18 years.  I spent the last 8.5 years as the Health and Nutrition Manager.  During that time, I had the opportunity to work with many of you on a daily or weekly basis. We have many new employees and I look forward to meeting you! You can expect to see me visiting at each location to see all the amazing work you are doing!

As the new year begins it is certainly a busy one!   We have many projects occurring in our program at all levels.  The most important one is our CLASS review which will occur virtually.  Within the next couple of weeks in February, you will continue to see Shelly Burns, the Education Manager, and her supervisors in 25 of our classrooms conducting the remaining CLASS video reviews.  The schedule was sent out notifying everyone when the reviews will occur.  We have a great program with qualified staff so I am sure the CLASS reviews will go very well.  I am asking staff to please support your fellow colleagues. For some teachers this will be their first encounter with a CLASS review.

As I settle into my new role I will bring with me my work ethic, enthusiasm and my TEAM philosophy. I cannot succeed as a leader without the support and help of each staff member.  Success is not achieved by any one person but rather by the entire team. My team consists of each one of you. I believe in hard work, dedication and some fun along the way. I look forward to a busy and successful year!
