ALPHA DELTA KAPPA MEMBERSHIP
ALPHA DELTA KAPPA MEMBERSHIP
“Alpha Delta Kappa? What’s that? Never heard of it!” “What do you do? Is that your college sorority?” Such comments present a perfect opportunity to do some educating about our organization. We want women educators to know who we are and what we stand for, and that joining with us will be of great benefit to them in their careers. We also want our communities to know about AΔK so we aren’t “the best kept secret in town.”
As AΔK members, we must provide opportunities for our communities and school systems to recognize that we represent a powerful force in today’s educational world.
Challenge yourselves to think outside the box and let that “secret” out! It will take time and commitment, but the rewards will be worth every bit of effort.
Whenever you volunteer, do it in the name of AΔK and wear an AΔK name tag.
Work with other organizations to sponsor and/or co-host community events that promote our purposes.
Active teachers, substitutes and retired volunteers at schools: Wear your AΔK shirts, carry your AΔK bag containing AΔK brochures, and bring your AΔK water bottle. Staff members and parents will ask questions.
Active teachers can display signs on their classroom doors or windows stating that “A proud member of Alpha Delta Kappa teaches in this classroom!”
