Who we're looking for...
We recruit adults (18 years of age and older) from the UB campus and local community.
Our oldest research participant was 99 years young
We also recruit stroke survivors or those who have a history of neurogenic language or cognitive disorders, including
Aphasia
Alzheimer's Disease
Primary Progressive Aphasia
What to expect...
The process of research will vary from study to study, but there are a few things that you can expect when you participate in research with our lab:
We want you to be comfortable in our space and with our staff.
We will describe all research activities and your rights as a research participant, including the ability to stop participating at any time.
Many of our research studies include tasks like:
Naming pictures
Reading or listening to words
Completing puzzles and riddles
Some of our research equipment includes:
Computer, mouse, and keyboard
Button boxes
Headphones and microphones
Pen and paper
