Dr. Castro is an Assistant Professor in the Communicative Disorders and Sciences Department at the University at Buffalo. She received a Dual-Title Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology and Gerontology from the University of Kansas. She completed two postdoctoral fellowships: one at the Georgia Institute of Technology (NIH/NIA T32 in Cognitive Aging) and one at the University of Washington (NIH/NIDCD F32 in Aphasia).
Nichol is from Southern California, but through her studies has lived in four time zones (California, Colorado, Kansas, Georgia, Washington, and New York). In her free time, she loves being outdoors and enjoys camping, hiking, trail running, and rock climbing.

Molly Holcombe is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Communicative Disorders and Sciences and a Research Speech-Language Pathologist in the Adult Language Network Lab. She received her MA from the University of Maryland and mostly recently worked as a Senior Speech-Language Pathologist at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington, DC. She has a special interest in aphasia and traumatic brain injury in children and adults.
Tracey Coffy is a first-year graduate student in the Speech-Language Pathology program at the University at Buffalo. She completed her B.A. in Speech and Hearing Science at UB and has developed a passion for working with the geriatric population. Tracey is especially interested in supporting older adults in maintaining their independence and quality of life through communication and swallowing therapy. In her free time, Tracey enjoys traveling, going for walks, and spending time with her family.
Cat is a second-year graduate student in the Speech-language Pathology program at the University at Buffalo, where she also earned her B.A. In Communication Sciences and Disorders. She has a strong interest in working with the adult neurogenic population, with a focus of promoting self-advocacy and enhancing quality of life for her patients. Outside of her studies, she loves to travel, exercise, and spend time with family and friends.
My name is Caitlin Keenan! I am a first-year graduate student in the Speech-language Pathology program at the University at Buffalo. I attended the University at Buffalo for my undergraduate studies in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I have a great interest in adult neurogenic communication disorders and am excited to explore different areas of speech pathology. In my free time, I like to hang out with my friends and go on long walks!
Melanie Perez is a first-year AuD student in the Communicative Disorders and Sciences Program at the University at Buffalo. She earned her B.S. in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from Ithaca College and has a strong interest in supporting children with hearing loss. During her free time Melanie loves traveling, baking, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
Maddy is a second-year graduate student in the Speech-Language Pathology program at the University at Buffalo, where she also earned her B.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She enjoys working with the adult neurogenic population and has an interest in using supported communication strategies to encourage meaningful interactions. Outside of the clinic, Maddy enjoys cooking, running, and spending time with friends and family.
Nandana is a first year MS Computational Linguistics student at the University at Buffalo. She has completed her Masters in Linguistics from the University of Delhi, India, where her research was primarily focused on the socio-cultural factors that affected second language learning in adults. She is fascinated about the inner workings of human languages, particularly the psychological and neurological bases of linguistic expression.
Currently, she is keen on studying how language is manifested in disorders like aphasia, and is excited to further her knowledge base. Outside of academics, Nandana loves to dance, read and conduct her own experiments in the kitchen.
Gabi is a first-year graduate student in the Speech-language Pathology program at the University at Buffalo. She attended Gannon University where she obtained her B.S in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor is Psychology. She has a passion for working with adults specifically in feeding, swallowing and neurogenic speech disorders. After she get her master's, she hopes to work in an acute care setting and eventually open her own practice. In her free time she enjoys working out, reading, and making jewelry.
Yuchen Wang is a first-year graduate student in the Speech-Language Pathology program at the University at Buffalo. She studied Cognitive Science with a focus on language at Vassar College, where she developed a strong interest in the multilingual speakers' language experience. She is excited to explore topics such as language acquisition and word retrieval, and is passionate about working with multilingual communities in the future. In her free time, Yuchen enjoys painting, making desserts, and building Legos.
