Heather Fletes

Elementary Section Chair

Heather Ramer Fletes is a passionate educator who seeks to connect teachers with a vision for high levels of literacy for every learner. She served as a bilingual, dual language and monolingual teacher and leader across grade levels and as ELAR Curriculum Coordinator in Prosper ISD.

With all of the great changes happening in Texas literacy, she began to consult with districts across North Texas to help with implementing new standards and materials while tying them to best instructional practices. She is passionate about serving as a thought partner, helping district and campus leaders communicate their vision for literacy; and she works to support our amazing Texas teachers in the changing landscape of reading and writing. She has the privilege to support students with all different needs and skills, and is especially passionate about supporting differentiation for language learners and gifted students. Nothing makes Heather happier than when she gets to dive in with readers and writers right in front of their teachers as she provides support.

She currently supports initiatives around Reader's and Writer's Workshop, small group reading and Reading Intervention on both primary and secondary campuses. While the size of the readers and the texts might change, she loves that the goal of fostering deep, lifelong reading and writing habits remains the same -- from PreK through the graduation stage!
