Hi there! My name is Rebecca Parris but some people call me Bee 🐝
This website will host all the information, resources, and blog post during my Masters of Health Studies.
Enjoy!
🍯💛
I completed a Bachelors of Health Science Honours in Kinesiology and Health promotion and continued my education by gaining an advanced diploma in Health Studies. I wanted to go even further and attain a Master degree in Health Studies - the goal I have set for myself will be closer in reach the more academic abilities I obtain. I would like to plan, create, implement and analyze programs for marginalized youth in Toronto. The vision? Watching the community benefit and promote healthy behaviour changes from evidence based practices. This website will reflect my journey as a student and will be updated in realtime, over time to present what I have been working on through the course of my studies and career. The institution I am involved with is the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College - this college consist of a undergraduate studies , graduate studies, and research. As a Graduate Studies and Research Assistant, my role within my institution is to help plan, coordinate, and implement programs for the graduate students throughout their studies - as well as maintaining the resident's schedule throughout their academic year. For research, I assist in gathering the information for Research Ethics Boards meeting, transcribing interviews and focus groups for research studies, draft contract agreements/funding agreements/transferring of funds, and maintaining the Research Ethics Board schedule. I was also an elite level cheerleader for 16 years and now I coach the elite U8 team and U16 teams at PCT Cheer and Tumble. As mentioned, the provincial health body of interest is the Public Health Agency of Canada.
