Hi, my name is Allison Fonti. I am very excited to be a part of this online learning community. I have been a part of the Cerritos Community College system as a part-time faculty member since 2007 where I have dedicated myself to helping students be successful in their learning. I currently teach in the Education Department where I continue to teach both face-to-face as well as online courses. I teach both the Introduction to Education and Introduction to Teaching courses to preservice teachers. Each course has a service learning fieldwork component attached to it where students get hands-on experience in a real life setting. I am also an integral member of the Cerritos College Teacher TRaining ACademy (Teacher TRAC). Teacher TRAC is a national award winning teacher preparation program that serves students interested in teaching early childhood, elementary, secondary or career technical education (CTE). Through this pathway, I am dedicated to assisting students on their path to becoming a teacher.
I am committed to student success inside of the classroom and in life. I have extensive experience in curriculum and pedagogy. When not teaching college students, I am a multiple subject teacher in a TK-8 setting. Having taught for the past 24 year, I have built many meaningful relationships. I have earned two Masters degrees; one in Educational Leadership from Whittier College and the other one in other in Educational Administration from CSUF. In addition to that I have my Administrative Credential, served as an Intervention Coordinator and Instructional Coach, obtained my Postsecondary Reading Certificate from CSUF, and have maintained positive relationships with the community, student body, district and staff. I offer a wide array of knowledge in several aspects of education and continue to be part of the Leadership Team. I strongly believe that instruction must be designed to meet the needs of all students in order to ensure student success.
