Where are you located?
Officially, we are based out of Conway, SC. However our rescue is foster based, and our fosters are located within the greater Myrtle Beach area.
Can I come visit your dogs?
Being that all of our dogs are in individual foster homes, you would need to apply to meet a specific dog. If approved, the foster will reach out to you to schedule a meet and greet. The only exception to that are adoption events, where we bring our dogs to a central location to meet potential adopters.
Are you a registered nonprofit?
Yes! We are a 501c3 registered nonprofit.
What is the adoption process?
Adoption starts with an application! If you see a dog you are intereted in on our page please make sure you include their name. If your application is approved, a volunteer will connect you with the dog's foster to set up a meet and greet. You can also meet/adopt dogs at our events.
Do you adopt out-of-state?
We do! However we do require in-person meet and greets and do not provide, arrange, or subsidize transport.
What are your adoption requirements?
We evaluate the needs of every dog that enters the rescue, and our only true requirement is that you are genuinely committing to loving and caring for our dogs for the rest of their lives. We do have the best interests of our dogs and their success in mind, and we are always doing our best to make the best placements.
Do I need a fenced-in yard?
We do require or give preference to a fenced in yard for certain breeds or personalities, but it is not a requirement to be considered for our rescue.
What are your adoption fees?
Our adoption fees vary. They are determined by many contributing factors. Puppies range from $400-600 and adults can range from $475-$1,000. All of our adoptions include age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and the spay/neuter of your dog (or scheduling the surgery if your dog is too young.) All adoption fees go straight back into the rescue to assist in covering the rising costs of supplies, vetting, emergencies, heartworm treatments, etc.
What if I adopt a dog and it's not working out?
We hate to hear when our dogs are not in their forever homes, but we are committed to their safety and wellbeing. If an AAART dog is not working out, please be in touch with the rescue ASAP so we can make arrangements to take them back into the rescue. Please do not re-home our dogs without reaching out to us.
How do I foster for your organization?
Fostering begins with an application! A perfect foster home is one who will love our rescue dogs like their own until they find their perfect home. Please submit a foster application here. If you are responding to a post or email asking for fosters for a specific dog please add their names!
Do I need to have a fenced in yard?
We do prefer fenced in yards for some breeds or personality traits, but it is not a determining factor for most of our dogs.
What kind of availability do I need to have as a foster?
Our fosters ideally take their foster pups to vet appointments or vaccination clinics (between 1-3 visits, typically on a weekday), and bring them to adoption events which are typically on Saturdays.
How long do I foster for? What if I need to leave town?
We hope our fosters can care for their dogs until they get adopted. We know that isn't always possible so if you need a temporary foster or to move your foster dog we just ask that you give us as much notice as possible so we can plan accordingly.
What does the rescue provide, and what am I responsible for?
The rescue provides all supplies and pays the bills, you provide the love! If you decide to purchase food or supplies instead of picking up from the rescue, you can save and send us your receipts and we can gladly provide a donation receipt from the rescue. If you need supplies, try to give us a heads up before you run out so we can arrange pickup of existing supplies instead of costly deliveries!
Do I need to live in Myrtle Beach?
We prefer that our fosters are local since our network of supporters and adopters are in the greater Myrtle Beach area where we also hold events. We also need to be able to vet the dogs at our partner veterinarians and clinics, and costs rise when we have to use outside providers. Therefore we prefer our fosters are local so we can give each pup the care and attention they need. We do happily and often adopt out of state!
How can my business partner with your organization?
We love partnering with local businesses! We have a large social media audience and we hope that partnerships also help the businesses that support the rescue. If you are located in the Myrtle Beach area, you can host an adoption event, where we would bring our dogs and puppies and we'd both spread the word and hopefully find them new homes! We also appreciate any business who is interested in doing percentage events, sponsorships, etc. We're flexible and always open to ideas. Please email us at allaboutanimals1082@gmail.com
Where and when are your events?
While the weather holds up we will be out there! We plan events at local businesses all over the Myrtle Beach area. See our Facebook Page to stay up to date on our events calendar!
Do all of your dogs come to events?
No. Our dogs are all in foster homes and sometimes fosters can't make it to events. We're also sensitive to some of our dogs' personalities and accept that a big event with lots of people and dogs won't be their ideal environment for every dog. If there is a specific dog in our pack that you'd like to meet, please submit an application and add the dog's name so we can match you up.
Are my donations tax deductible?
Yes! AAART is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. If you need a tax receipt for your donation, please donate through Zeffy and one will automatically be generated for you. We appreciate all and any donations, every dollar counts and we couldn't do it without you. Please visit our Zeffy page to make the biggest impact -- Zeffy does not charge nonprofits transaction fees.
Can I donate food or supplies?
Absolutely! Our greatest needs are usually puppy pads (we love Costco's for the price and quality) puppy food (Purina One is our dogs' fave). We have an Amazon Wishlist that we update and we can also accept local donations. Please email allaboutanimals1082@gmail.com if you have any questions.
The quickest way to reach us is by messaging us on Facebook. You can also email us at allaboutanimals1082@gmail.com
We are a small team of volunteers and do our best to get back to folks as soon as possible!
