Project: Rapid Evaluation Study on Feasibility of Mutual Insurance Schemes in Rural Institutions (2011)

Client: GIZ, India

Responsibilties: Lead the research team of Uplift India Mutuals. Visit the institutions suggested by NABARD and assess their suitability/capability for undertaking insurance mutual schemes

 

Project: A study on demand and the status of micro health insurance in Vidarbh (2011)

Client: Sir Ratan Tata Trust

Responsibilities: Lead the research team of Uplift India Mutuals. Visit the program area and assess the models by the filed visits data as well as secondary data

 

Project: Socio-technical assessment of the reconstruction program after the Gujarat earthquake (2004)

Client: Intermon Oxfam, Spain and India

Responsibilities: Team member. In-charge of the socio-economic assessment. Visit the program area and assess whether the socio-cultural requirements of a home were met and whether the costs incurred were justified.  


Project: Impact of agricultural plans and policies of Maharashtra government on women farmers (2003-04)

Client: UNDP

Responsibilities: Project Director. Study the state budgets for agriculture four years and examine the implications from the gender perspective. Examine the beneficiary’s assessment of two government schemes and find out the gender bias in beneficiary incidence 


Project : Evaluation of rehabilitation efforts after Gujarat earthquake (2002)

Client:  ANarDe Foundation

Responsibilities: Evaluating the programs undertaken by the foundation in terms of their effectiveness for the affected as well as in terms of prioritizing and designing of the activities

Project:  Economic Impact assessment of cash for work program (2001)

Client:   CARE, India

Responsibilities: Chief consultant for assessing the economic impacts generated by the drought relief program carried out by CARE in two districts of Rajasthan.


Project : Preparation of perspective plan for the Primary Education Enhancement Program (2000)

Client : UNICEF

Responsibilities: Chief consultant for studying the progress of PEEP in Yavatmal and Chandrapur districts of Maharashtra and designing a perspective plan for next five years based on the performance of the program.   


Project:  Evaluation of drought management program of Orissa (1998)

Client:   OXFAM India Ltd.

Responsibilities:  Visit the program area and assess whether the needs of the people are actually catered to by the program. Consider and evaluate alternative coping strategies.


Project:  Environment management and improvement action plan for Bangalore (1997)

Client:   GTZ, Germany

Retained by:   Tata Energy Research Institute (TERI), Bangalore

Responsibilities: Team Member. Design action plan for reducing pollution from vehicular emissions and help in designing plans for environmental issues like solid waste management and air pollution.


Project:   Impact of new economic policy on the rural poor in Maharashtra (1996)

Client: World Bank

Responsibilities: Team Member. Looking at conditions of farmers in sample villages of Parbhani district of Maharashtra (main cotton growing region) after the economic reforms


Project:  Institutional strengthening and collection of environmental statistics (1995)

Client:  Asian Development Bank

Retained by:  Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Pune

Responsibilities: To examine the status of environment in member countries and with the team members, prepare a framework of collecting the environmental data for the countries.


Project:   Preparing knowledge base for environment impact assessment of infrastructure projects (1994)

Client:    Asian Development Bank

Responsibilities: Examine the EIA processes in four countries in Southeast Asia for major development projects and preparing knowledge base for the social and economic impacts of such projects.
