Ph.D.: Cornell University, USA: Department of Agriculture and Allied Economics,  1993. The thesis was on “Impact of decentralization of industries on rural development: A study of two Indian villages in the Semi Arid Tropics”. It was nominated for the best thesis award.   

M.A. in Economics: University of Bombay, 1987. Gold Medal was awarded for securing the highest marks in the M.A. Economics class of the University of Bombay, 1987. 

B.Com.: Sydenham College, University of Bombay, 1985.
