We are always looking for school librarians and the programs they lead that are pushing toward the center of teaching and learning in their schools
Here's how to participate and share expertise:
Create or share a video that you have already created that spotlights your practice in any one of the nine categories on this website. Three to five minute videos are the best, and those that inform administrators, boards, teachers, and parents are welcome.
You could also agree to be interviewed about one or more of the topics on the website by Dr. Loertscher or another cadre member of the ALiVE! website.
Also, we are including many Think Boxes on the site that draw attention to ideas, research, models, tools, articles and existing videos that showcase possibilities for communities to consider in their search for a powerful library learning common in their school
Lastly, you might be aware of individuals who should be spotlighted but are reticent to do so without being nominated.
Here is how to help:
Send an email to Professor David Loertscher at reader.david@gmail.com with your recommendation or nomination. You can also telephone him at 801-755-1122 with your idea. You can fill out the following Google form:
Note: We spotlight professionals who are credentialed or have an endorsement from their state. In a few states where such is not required, we look for those who are on the teacher salary schedule. We also prefer those who are full time or nearly so in their schools. District leaders who have successful programs across the district are also welcome and encouraged to participate. Library educators are also urged to contribute Think Boxes and nominate exemplary programs and professionals. Local and national organizations are also encouraged to participate.
