At present, there are two 11 a-side competitions scheduled for 2026
1. The Pan-Pacific Masters November 2026
a. The Pan-Pac Masters will be held in the Gold Coast from the 6th to 15th November 2026. The exact schedule and format is not known yet, entries do not open until 3rd March 2026. There are currently three age categories (TBC), over 60’s, over 65’s, and over 70’s which are relevant to Alive_n_Kicking.
b. We have just sent out (as of 6th February) an expressions of interest notice (EOI) to assess participation levels and will get in touch with the Paradise Island Resort once more to try to obtain a group discount (some 20 or so members enjoyed such in 2024). Their management has already been visited and forewarned.
c. Please check the WhatsApp Group for the poll on expressions of interest (EOI)
d. More details on Alive n Kicking’s organisation for the event will be published once the EOI is finalised.
2. 70Plus World Cup October 2026
a. Also, some of you will have received from Keith Pierce, president of OASIS (Over Aged Seventy and still Into Soccer), a note on the 70Plus World Cup
b. The 70Plus World Cup will be held in Cleveland Qld, at the grounds of Redlands Utd FC, from 12th-16th October 2026.
c. Prior to the competition, there will be trials for selection, dates yet to be announced, so please bear that in mind.
d. There are 3 comps, over 70’s, over 75’s, and over 80’s, each of different team and pitch size. So, if you’re eligible and interested, you can register on CM70/75Australia - Google Sheets
e. As of Feb 2026, it is felt that there is sufficient interest, subject to selection, for two Australian teams to represent in the over 70’s.
Also, for reference, and future planning, here are two events planned for 2027 – More details will follow.
1. February 2027 - The Johnny Warren 7-a-sides in Jamberoo.
This competition involves camping, football, swimming in the local pool and drinking in the Jamberoo pub.
2. May 2027 - 2027 World Masters Games will take place in Kansai (the Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe region) in Japan from 14 – 30 May 2027.
