4. Work for the good of the club.
5. Accept the decisions of the officials with good grace.
6. Be generous when your team wins.
7. Be graceful when your team loses.
8. Believe in the honesty of your opponents.
9. Never encourage, condone or participate in any activities that may intentionally injure players/spectators/officials, or damage soccer facilities.
10. Develop and encourage an appreciation of the game of football.
11. Control your temper, verbal abuse, sledging, intimidation or threats made of other players and, deliberately distracting or provoking or harassing an opponent or any sort of violence are not acceptable or permitted behaviours.
12. Work equally hard for yourself and your team. Your team's performance will benefit and so will you.
13. Be a good sport. Applaud all good plays whether they are made by your team or the opposition.
14. Treat all participants in the game as you like to be treated. Do not bully, sledge or take unfair advantage of another competitor or teammate.
15. Participate for your own enjoyment and benefit.
16. Loud constant arguing and swearing within your own team and/or with other teams and/or with officials is not tolerated by our club. Players who regularly do this will be disciplined or suspended if they continue to behave in this manner. We all make mistakes, but it does not help if we are criticised or berated by a teammate. Be positive!
Ank Playing Rules
Tackling - no tackling from behind is acceptable. And, of course, absolutely no slide tackles.
All free kicks and sideline kicks are indirect.
Goals can be scored direct from a corner.
Play must be stopped if a player goes down e.g. as a result of a tackle, if the player trips and falls over, etc.
We would like to promote the wearing of soft moulded studs as opposed to metal / hard plastic blade type soles - many all-weather pitches now only allow soft moulded studs on these surfaces.
No offsides -we play without officials, so it is hard to police offsides.
Goalkeepers can pick up from a back pass – we play with rotating outfield players as goalkeepers and try to make it as easy for them as possible.
No throw-ins - Just kick-ins from the sideline.
Shin pads are optional.
Each player to use, where possible, the AnK provided shirts as team selections / format can change on the day.
Players who have NOT reached the age of 60 are NOT allowed to be members or play as guests/visitors. Please Do Not invite friends/colleagues under the age of 60. All Visitors/guests must sign a waiver; there are copies in the bag.
