Terms of Use for Align Vision Journal
Effective date: October 1, 2026
By downloading or using Align Vision Journal, you agree to these Terms of Use and to Apple’s applicable Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
Purpose of the app
Align Vision Journal is a personal visual-observation and recordkeeping tool for people experiencing strabismus (eye misalignment) or diplopia (double vision). It allows you to document how two images appear relative to one another under viewing conditions you select.
Align Vision Journal is not intended to diagnose disease, prescribe or recommend treatment, or replace a comprehensive professional eye examination. The app’s observations should be used to support discussion with a qualified eye-care professional, not to make treatment decisions or delay professional care.
User-selected observations
The values recorded by Align Vision Journal result from adjustments you select based on your own perception. They are not professional measurements of ocular deviation.
Results may be affected by factors including:
Your perception and technique
Viewing distance and angle
Head position
Device and display characteristics
Display scaling and projection geometry
Red-and-blue anaglyph glasses
Color and pattern calibration
Lighting and viewing conditions
Fatigue and other changes in your visual experience
Results may vary between observations even when your underlying condition has not changed.
Supported use
Direct on-device observations are intended for supported iPads.
On iPhone, you may use Align Vision Journal to become familiar with the interface or as a controller while screen mirroring to a television, monitor, or projector. Do not make measurements from the iPhone screen.
When using an external display, you are responsible for entering and checking the viewing geometry, display dimensions, scaling, and other setup information.
Automatic distance estimation
On supported iPads, optional Automatic Mode uses Apple’s face-tracking technology to estimate viewing distance.
This feature is experimental and may produce device-dependent errors. Do not assume that its estimate is exact. Compare it with a physical measurement and use manual Projection Mode when the values disagree or when Automatic Mode is unavailable.
Safe use
Follow the instructions provided within the app. Use the app in a stable, comfortable position and in a safe environment.
Stop using the app if testing causes eye strain, headache, dizziness, nausea, neck discomfort, or other symptoms.
Do not rely on Align Vision Journal for urgent evaluation. If you experience sudden or worsening double vision, vision loss, severe headache, weakness, trauma, or another urgent symptom, seek prompt professional or emergency care.
Use by a minor should be supervised by a parent, guardian, or appropriate professional.
Saved information and exports
Align Vision Journal stores settings and observations locally on your device. You are responsible for maintaining your device, protecting access to it, and exporting any records you want to preserve.
Deleting the app may delete its locally stored information. The developer cannot remotely retrieve or restore your saved observations.
You control whether to export, print, copy, or share information from the app. Review exported information before sharing it, select recipients carefully, and avoid sharing sensitive information unnecessarily.
Once information is sent to another person, application, or service, that recipient’s terms and privacy practices apply.
Availability and changes
Features may vary by device, display, operating-system version, permissions, and hardware capabilities.
Align Vision Journal may be corrected, modified, updated, limited, or discontinued. Continued compatibility with every device, operating-system version, external display, or accessory is not guaranteed.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Align Vision Journal is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, reliability, uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or suitability for diagnosis or treatment.
No representation is made that the app’s observations are equivalent to measurements made by an eye-care professional or that the app will identify, monitor, confirm, or rule out any medical condition.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the developer of Align Vision Journal is not responsible for decisions made in reliance on the app’s observations, loss of locally stored or exported information, or indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of or inability to use the app.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
Apple’s standard license terms
Unless a separate custom license agreement is provided through App Store Connect, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of Align Vision Journal.

Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
