LOOKING AT THE TOP OF A BLUE TREE

Concertina book, 14 x 22 cm (from approx. 80 cm long when partially unfolded; 550 cm long when flat), inkjet printed on uncoated paper

2015-16

It began with a grey thread, an (almost) empty room and a blue-grey sky through the windows; clouds moved and seventeen birds crossed back and forth, echoing the thread.

The thread splits the sky, takes the structure of the wind and follows the paths of the birds. I tried to follow the thread.
